PINEWOOD DERBY TIME!

 

 

 

MARCH 12, 2010

 

6PM REGISTRATION

 

THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2010 FROM 6 - 8PM  WEIGH-IN AND DRY RUN:     COME TO JACKSON CAFETERIA AND CHECK YOUR CAR'S WEIGHT AND HAVE A PRACTICE RUN DOWN THE TRACK TO CHECK THE ALIGNMENT.

 

FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2010:  OFFICAL WEIGH-IN AT 6PM; CATEGORY JUDGING FROM 6:15 - 6:30;  RACING TO BEGIN AT 6:30!!

 

APPERANCE CATEGORIES:

  1. CHARACTER THEMED CAR:   Superhero, film, cartoon, video game character, or make your own.
  2. SPORTS THEMED CAR:   Sports team, player, equipment or other sports-related theme.
  3. PATRIOTIC/SCOUTING THEMED CAR:    Patriotic or Scouting theme.
  4. SCOUT'S FAVORITE:   Just plain awesome!  Note:  Cars receiving trophies in the first three appearance categories will NOT be considered for the Scout's Favorite awards.  The Scout's Favorite awards serves as a catch-all, second-chance category, and may award a car with a creative theme other than the first three.

 

RACING:

  • ALL RACES WILL BE IN A DOUBLE-ELIMINATION FORMAT (a car must lose two races to be eliminated.)
  • DEN RACES
  •          Each pack will race as a group, and the top three in each pack will receive a trophy and advance to the "Grand Champion" race.  All other competitors in each den will recieve a medallion.
  •           The packs may be combined or separeated, depending on numbers, to provide a reasonable even competition field.  For example, the Webelos will be split into two groups, as they have a very large den.
  • PACK RACES - "GRAND CHAMPION"
  •        The top three competitors from each den will race in the "Grand Champion" round.  The top three overall in the pack will receive "Grand Champion" trophies.

 

FOOD:

  • Pizza $1
  • Hot Dog $1
  • Chips 50 cents
  • Candy Bar 50 cents

  • Pack 327 meets as a pack every 3rd Thursday of the month in the Jackson Elementary School cafeteria
  • Pack 327 is a Cub Scouts organization preparing boys for the Boy Scout ranks
  • Cub Scouts include:
    • Tiger Den
      • 1st graders
    • Wolf Den
      • 2nd graders
    • Bear Den
      • 3rd graders
    • Webelos I
      • 4th graders
    • Webelos II
      • 5th graders
  •  Individual Den meetings are scheduled once a month. Meeting places and times scheduled by Den leader. Check the Pack Calendar.
